What Went Wrong?

Below is a short video of screen shots from Google Earth showing the site where Ryan Dunn Crashed his 2007 Porsche GT3 on Monday June 20, 2011.
The 2007 Porsche GT3 came with a sophisticated Traction Control system and ABS brakes. And along with reliability Porsche has always been renowned for its brakes!
However the Traction Control system can be turned off, I’m not sure about the ABS braking system.
From the photo above (provided by PorscheFreak – Thanks!) it looks like Ryan thought he was going to miss his exit, somehow locked up the brakes and went straight into the guard rail.
I bet Ryan, or anyone with experience (and sober) in a Porsche, let alone a GT3, could have made that corner even if they didn’t hit the brakes until he did. Even in a Porsche without ABS and Traction Control it probably wouldn’t be that big of a deal as you have time to continue breaking even once you are in the corner and could probably scrub off a bunch of speed.
What a shame!
