42-year-old Kenneth Monte has had his charges upgraded with two counts of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, one count of aggravated battery, aggravated fleeing and eluding and driving under the influence with property damage according to Port Orange police.

On August 31, 2011 Monte allegedly was involved in a hit-and-run accident and when police spotted his truck and attempted to pull him over Monte put his vehicle in reverse, rammed the police cruiser and shoved it backwards. Then the chase was on!

As he fled the scene he crashed into another car and continued on eventually hitting another police car, spinning out, hitting a guard rail and flipping over.

Monte was arrested and taken to the hospital before being jailed where, as of Thursday, October 6th, he was being held on $44,000 bail.
