Chagrined 15-year old, James Mond III, spent almost 4 hours on an East Tampa street corner wearing a sign stating:

“I did 4 questions on my FCAT and said I wasn’t going to do it … GPA 1.22 … honk if I need (an) education.”

The reason?

The last straw for James’ mom was apparently his flunking gym – his excuse, he’s “not an outdoor person”. James’ mom had had enough and sent the kid out to get a taste of life on the street.

Yeah, people honked!

Florida’s Department of Children and Families interviewed the kid and DCF’s Terry Field said the punishment might legally be considered bizarre, a form of maltreatment.

There might be a happy ending as James has promised to improve his grades!
